Best version of yourself
We all do it, one way or another, whether on a date, an interview, or a pitch of a project. We add a bit more color to our story, a bit higher numbers, and a bit more of the thing we believe will turn the odds in our favor. To be good enough to get to the second date, to win the pitch, get hired…
Though it seems natural and an obvious thing to do, what if that “best version” raises too high expectations that crush into reality afterward?
What if your “true version” is actually better than you think? What if your true self actually filters out the people which are not “your tribe”?
First date with “true you” can end up in a beautiful and honest relationship instead of a slowly decaying one with the image of you, that you think they want to see. It’s not sustainable.
After getting hired you would arrive in a tribe that believes what you believe, instead of faking the team spirit in a place of cold yet friendly strangers.
Your project pitch would attract the right stakeholder/investor that would see and appreciate the true value of what you’re trying to build.
